Term Paper and Presentation
This course requires a term paper be prepared and presented to the class at an appointed time. The term paper will consist of at least 8 pages (regular pages 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches) with 1" margins, a coversheet (with the title of the paper and students name), citations or bibliography page citing all sources used for the paper. Pictures and graphs are allowed to be used for the paper only if they aid in presenting and overall comprehension of the topic covered. Overuse of graphics will decrease the points earned. The topic of the paper will be determined by the individual student. The topic should be something of interest to you within the funeral industry. Students are encouraged to discuss their chosen topic with the instructor and or fellow students to ensure the topic will be appropriate for the classroom. It is STRONGLY suggested that you begin working on the paper in the early weeks of the semester. Allowing yourself extra time will provide you with additional time to prepare rough drafts and the final draft. Proper use of the allotted time will help in familiarizing you with the information, aiding you as you present your topic to the class. The presentation will be no longer than 5 minutes. It should cover the topic of the paper along with several key points and facts within the paper. The presentation can consist of PowerPoint slides, handouts, and open discussion with the class. You will be required to submit an electronic copy to the instructor and post to an Eportfolio page prior to the presentation. Please contact the instructor with any questions.
